Loewen, Longcroft-Harris headline Team Canada roster at 2018 World University Triathlon Championship

TORONTO (U SPORTS) – Garrick Loewen and Aiden Longcroft-Harris will lead Team Canada into the 2018 World University Triathlon Championship beginning Saturday.

Loewen, a former member of the Windsor Lancers cross country squad, returns from the 2016 event where he was lone Canadian student-athlete to complete.

Longcroft-Harris, a University of Victoria alumnus, represented Canada at the 2017 ITU World Triathlon Series Grand Final in Rotterdam, Netherlands last September. The Victoria, B.C., native also competed for his country at the American Triathlon Confederation (CAMTRI) Junior Continental Championship alongside Laval’s Jérémie Martin.

The team also features a pair of former U SPORTS student-athletes in Victoria’s Brodie Marshall who competed for the Vikes cross country squad and Stephen Blankenship of the Brock Badgers’ swim team.

The 2018 World University Triathlon Championship runs Sept. 1-2 in Kalmar, Sweden.
