Rachel Macatee provides critical support towards Triathlon Canada’s high-performance team in her position as sport development officer.
Rachel originally joined Triathlon Canada in 2017 where she filled the role of events and teams manager – responsible for managing all of Canada’s Age Group World Championship Teams, while lending support to national team athletes, and working with domestic race organizing committees. Rachel lead the bidding and hosting process for hosting domestic and international events and provided support to the national sport organization’s fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
Rachel has extensive experience working with endurance sports and event management in Canada. Prior to joining Triathlon Canada, she was a member of the logistics and operations management team for the 2017 ITU Multisport World Championship Festival in Penticton, B.C. and she was event director for the 24 Hours of Adrenalin in Canmore. Rachel also spent three years as the athlete and services manager with Ironman Canada where she was responsible for all facets of the Subaru IRONMAN Western Canada Series.
A versatile professional, Rachel has spent her life as an avid athlete across a wide variety of sports. She also worked in the main operations centre at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games.
