A journalism graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Chris got his start in the public relations industry with Golf Canada. He then moved to a Toronto-based public relations agency with a client base that included Molson, Nike Canada and Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment before moving west to take on the role of director of communications with the Calgary Olympic Development Association. In 2008, his involvement triathlon took off at high speed when he led Simon Whitfield’s victory-management media strategy following his silver-medal triumph at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
From there, Chris’ career has evolved into providing all-encompassing communications support for Triathlon Canada. He has worked tirelessly to help develop and share the powerful stories of Canada’s triathlon community with the entire nation through mainstream, trades and social media. As communications manager, Chris provides communications counsel and strategy and media training to executive staff members, athletes and coaches. From Olympic and Paralympic medal ceremonies to corporate and personal crisis situations, Chris has led key personalities in the Triathlon Canada Nation through many of the most memorable times in the organization’s short, yet rich, history.
A leading communications advisor in Canada’s sport community, Chris brings dedication, knowledge, creativity and passion to his work with amateur and professional athletes in a variety of sports over the last two decades. He has represented the country at seven Olympic and four Paralympics Games, along with countless major international events.
