New Super Sprint & Relay National Championships
Victoria, BC
Triathlon Canada is building something special in our home-town of Victoria – a consistent season finale that brings athletes, fans, and the triathlon community together. This race will be a lasting celebration of our sport and its growth across Canada.
Victoria provides a truly epic landscape for triathletes. Beyond the mild climate and easy access to beautiful places to swim, bike, and run that already draw many to the region; the City of Victoria knocks an extensive list of ideal hosting conditions out of the park. Seamlessly blending our sport into a vibrant urban center while still offering a high quality experience across the board is no small feat! Enter Victoria.
The core of our little island city has it all and more: a premier destination location; a challenging, exciting, and highly spectator-friendly racecourse; a convenient and walkable race venue; easy access to varied accommodation options; lots of great restaurants and amenities; and a huge array of additional leisure activities!
Join us for the 2026 Season Finale on August 22nd & 23rd!

The Super Sprint & Relay National Championships will focus on short-course racing and blending elite and age group programs. Super sprint triathlon has traditionally been the arena of newcomers dipping their toes in the triathlon pool. This has changed dramatically with the addition of the mixed relay discipline to the Olympic program and World Triathlon Championship Series. Super sprint is high octane, pedal-to-the-metal racing that demands precision and leaves no margin for error. What makes this distance so special is that it can be both: a serious challenge and an inviting entry point for athletes of all abilities.
This new event will join our confirmed slate of National Championship events across Canada that span all the triathlon and multisport disciplines. Check out all of the events on our calendar page
Racing Programs:
Elite Program
Elite National Championships:
Triathlon Canada’s goal for the elite program is simple: deliver lots of head-to-head racing. The individual event will follow a heats/finals format over the super sprint distance featuring fast, compact bike and run courses with tight loops that will allow athletes to see – and respond to – every move on course.
Junior/U23 Mixed Relay National Championships:
Mixed Relay National Championships are returning to the championship program! Provincial teams will be formed by each Provincial Sport Organization to compete for the top spot in the country.
Age Group Program
Triathlon Canada’s goal is to create an offering of events that will allow participants to race more than once over the event weekend. A full slate of community programs is also under development, but the core events will be:
Super Sprint Triathlon National Championships:
Age group athletes will race on the same course as the elite competition in a draft-legal format. This provides a unique and rare opportunity to experience an elite course and the excitement of draft-legal racing! Get ready for something really special.
Important reminder: Draft-legal races mean that triathlon bikes and bikes equipped with aero bars are not permitted! Athletes must compete on road bikes with standard drop bars.
Community Program
FREE 5km Run
Join us for a free 5 km community run along Victoria’s beautiful Dallas Road! Enjoy stunning oceanfront views as you run, jog, or walk one of the city’s most scenic routes. Open to all ages and abilities, this event is the perfect opportunity to get active with friends and family while being part of an exciting weekend of racing. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply looking to enjoy the waterfront, there’s something for everyone. We can’t wait to see you at the start line!
Kids and Youth Race
Get your kids moving and introduce them to the exciting world of triathlon! Our Kids & Youth event offers two fun participation options, making it perfect for every comfort and experience level. Young athletes can bring their bike and take on a run-bike challenge, or choose to participate in the run only.
Whether they’re trying multisport for the very first time or already love to race, this is the perfect opportunity to “Tri” their first triathlon (without the swim!). Open to all ages and abilities, it’s a welcoming, supportive environment where kids can build confidence, stay active, and cross the finish line with a smile.
Click here to register for the kids race! Based on your child’s age, you will be directed to select the correct age category for your child in the registration system.
The Boomtown Social Tri
Just want to have some fun and say you TRI’D? Join us for the Boomtown Social Triathlon! This is all about connecting with the community and playing within your comfort zone. Some of our illustrious Olympic alumni will be out to partake in the joy that is getting together for a shared adventure and then hanging out over some nachos to make the stories that much better. Thanks to Simon and Brent for bringing this amazing idea to life. Click here for the program outline.
The program:
- Socialize – meet at Clover point at 11:30am to watch the Elite National Championship Finals and munch some Boomtown pre-race carbs courtesy of Brent McMahon at RE/MAX Camosun
- Swim – interact with the water however you want for 5 minutes! This can be anything from dipping your toes in and wading around the shoreline to challenging yourself to swim out to a buoy – whatever you want to achieve within the time limit.
- Run – take a jaunt through Clover Point Park at your pace of choice for 5 minutes! Walk, skip, run, dance…whatever makes you feel good.
- Bike – ride your bike up to Boomtown at your own pace, following the usual rules of the road (SAFETY FIRST!).
- Socialize – enjoy some delicious Boomtown Nachos and bevvies on the patio and talk about the most social TRI you ever TRI’D.
This is a FREE event – the only thing we need from you to participate is a waiver. Click here!
A HUGE thank you to Boomtown for hosting the first (hopefully annual) SocialTri, and to Dinnie-Smyth McMahon Real Estate Group for making sure we could eat some great snacks and offer this adventure to anyone who wants to #TriThis.
