VICTORIA-<\/strong>Jono Hall a d\u00e9missionn\u00e9 de son poste d’entra\u00eeneur en chef du Centre national de performance de Triathlon Canada pour se rapprocher de sa famille en Australie, a annonc\u00e9 Triathlon Canada vendredi.<\/p>\n

L\u2019entra\u00eeneneur d’origine australienne a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans l’orientation de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d’athl\u00e8tes d’\u00e9lite du Canada pour en faire des athl\u00e8tes m\u00e9daill\u00e9s sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale du triathlon d’\u00e9lite depuis qu’il a pris les r\u00eanes de l’entra\u00eenement national en 2015.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Apr\u00e8s une ann\u00e9e tr\u00e8s difficile pour nous tous – entra\u00eener virtuellement tout en naviguant sur la pand\u00e9mie, coupl\u00e9e \u00e0 des r\u00e9sultats d\u00e9cevants aux Jeux olympiques et \u00e0 un environnement professionnel difficile, j’ai d\u00e9termin\u00e9 qu’il \u00e9tait temps de me retirer de l’entra\u00eenement au Canada et de retourner chez moi en Australie pour passer plus de temps avec ma femme et ma fille tout en \u00e9tant plus proche de nos familles \u00e9largies\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Hall, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00eeneur international pendant les 18 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es et quatre Jeux olympiques.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Mon style d’entra\u00eenement a toujours plac\u00e9 les athl\u00e8tes au centre de toutes les d\u00e9cisions. Je l’ai fait avec les meilleures intentions du monde et avec des commentaires honn\u00eates. Cette approche n’a pas toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 bien re\u00e7ue ; cependant, je reste un d\u00e9fenseur de l’honn\u00eatet\u00e9 et de la transparence et je suis fier du travail que j’ai accompli au Canada et reconnaissant pour les messages de remerciement que j’ai re\u00e7us des athl\u00e8tes et des parents au fil des ans.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Triathlon Canada souhaite insister sur le fait que la d\u00e9mission de Hall n’est en aucun cas li\u00e9e aux r\u00e9centes revendications de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sportive exprim\u00e9es dans la communaut\u00e9 concernant ses violations pr\u00e9sum\u00e9es du Code de conduite et d’\u00e9thique de Triathlon Canada.<\/p>\n

Bien qu’il ait \u00e9t\u00e9 constat\u00e9 que Hall a enfreint certaines parties du Code de conduite et d’\u00e9thique de Triathlon Canada \u00e0 la suite de la conclusion de l’enqu\u00eate ind\u00e9pendante et du processus disciplinaire en ce qui concerne son style de communication et les protocoles d’accident d’entra\u00eenement, toutes les all\u00e9gations d’abus, de harc\u00e8lement et d’abus de pouvoir ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme non fond\u00e9es par le comit\u00e9 disciplinaire ind\u00e9pendant nomm\u00e9 pour entendre l’affaire.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Triathlon Canada prend au s\u00e9rieux toutes les all\u00e9gations de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 dans le sport. Hall a \u00e9t\u00e9 suspendu pendant cinq jours de ses fonctions d’entra\u00eeneur et a d\u00fb suivre deux modules en ligne, dont un module sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 dans le sport et un module sur les protocoles relatifs aux commotions c\u00e9r\u00e9brales. Hall a respect\u00e9 le processus et les r\u00e9sultats, a compl\u00e9t\u00e9 ces modules et a repris ses fonctions d’entra\u00eeneur \u00e0 l’approche des Jeux de Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Il est important que la communaut\u00e9 canadienne du triathlon – et la communaut\u00e9 sportive dans son ensemble – comprenne que tous les comportements qui rel\u00e8vent de ce qu’on appelle le \u00ab\u00a0sport s\u00e9curitaire\u00a0\u00bb ne sont pas n\u00e9cessairement criminels et ne justifient pas le co\u00fbt de la carri\u00e8re ou de la r\u00e9putation d’une personne. Comme dans d’autres environnements professionnels, il y a de nombreuses fois o\u00f9 les entra\u00eeneurs – et tous ceux qui sont impliqu\u00e9s dans le sport, d’ailleurs – devraient avoir l’occasion d’aborder les probl\u00e8mes et de faire des corrections pour s’am\u00e9liorer\u00a0\u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 McCrory. \u00ab\u00a0Au nom de la grande communaut\u00e9 du triathlon au Canada.
