Cara Macdonald

Date of Birth: | November 15, 2004 |
Birth Place: | Glasgow, Scotland |
Residence: | Ottawa, ON |
Cara got a head start on the sport of triathlon after competing inn swimming for nine years while also running track and cross country with her high school. It was a natural progression to race triathlons in the summer but did not train for them as her competitive priority was swimming.
Cara was an active athlete growing up. Her parents raced age group triathlons. She also raced cyclocross, competed in alpine skiing and even tried BJJ when she was younger. When not chasing victories on the field of play, Cara finds herself in the classroom at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina where she is studying Engineering Physics. She also enjoys walking her dog, hanging out with friends and playing board games.
Did You Know…the coolest place she has raced is Hamburg, Germany with the fun course and atmosphere created by the huge crowd. She loves racing in Magog, Que. Cara’s hero is Paula Findlay.
